The Man Behind the Business
David brings a lifetime of hands-on construction experience to Banker Built, shaped by early years working alongside his family in the trades and learning structural fundamentals from his grandfather. Over the past two decades, he has built a reputation for understanding every side of the process—from managing projects in the field to overseeing the financial realities behind them.
As a licensed general contractor and real estate agent, David approaches each project with a balanced perspective, ensuring it is not only built with integrity but also makes long-term sense for his clients. Together with his wife Suzanne, who leads the business operations and marketing side of the company, he is committed to delivering thoughtful, high-quality work and a straightforward, client-first experience that stands the test of time.

I grew up around construction. My family was in the trades, so from a young age I was working weekends with my dad and learning how things really get built. During summers I’d stay at my grandfather’s place in East Tennessee. As a successful engineer, he enjoyed teaching my brother and I the fundamentals of structural design—loads, cantilevers, foundations, and why those details matter.
Right after high school I started working in the family business. I learned every side of it—building new homes, managing subs, and eventually running the financial side. That hands-on experience is what led me to start Banker Built. After twenty years in business, I still enjoy building, and renovating in the greater Nashville area and providing builder consulting services nationally.
What I bring to every project is a practical mix of construction know-how and financial understanding. I’m a licensed general contractor and a licensed real estate agent, so I look at projects from both sides—making sure they’re built right and that they make good long-term sense for my clients. I focus on doing solid work that lasts and adds real value, without shortcuts.
I live in Franklin with my wife Suzanne and our four kids. Suzanne has been an entrepreneur her whole life—she built and sold her own business before joining me. She runs the general manager side of Banker Built, handling marketing and business development. We work together to make sure things run smoothly and our clients get clear, honest service.
My goal is simple: deliver quality work that serves my clients’ best interests and stands the test of time.
